Food For Kids is always looking to improve efficiencies, this year both Archie Stouffer in Minden and J.D Hodgson in Haliburton have started bulk purchasing with Sysco foods; this is the first step in creating a procurement and distribution network within Haliburton County where transportation is always an issue. This has allowed school coordinators to spend less time shopping and more time menu planning. Food For Kids has supplied funding for both schools with items such as new fridges, freezers and reusable dinnerware so that we have a smaller footprint on the environment.
